Twas the Night before Christmas
Twas the night before Xmas in my bed as I dream,
I recall no angels, or wise men, no mangers have been seen.
No Communion Service was held at our Church this past night,
Cards just say Happy Holidays and no carolers are in sight.
This season of anticipation, great hope, and true joy,
Is replaced by anxiety seeking just the right toy.
The tree is not the same without being topped by a star,
That led wise men of old for many days from afar.
Think if the bell ringers greet you with just a “good day”.
Without mentioning Christmas there’s not much to say.
Without Joy to the World or Away in a Manger,
There will be no peace on Earth, only darkness and danger.
As I awoke I exclaimed “My God what’s been done!
We’re trying to have the season without mentioning Your Son.”
Listening to the news there seems little doubt,
That local government and schools are X-ing him out.
Take Christ out of Christmas “oh surely you jest”,
Other times and holidays would be a big mess.
Instead of Thanksgiving we would now say X-giving,
Easter must be done away with, lest we mention His living.
Our nation has been attacked and our lifestyle has been marred,
Many lives have been lost and families have been scarred.
As you sing God Bless America be careful what you say,
Some have X’ed out His Son born on Christmas Day.
As you lay down on your pillow at night Christmas Eve,
Christ gave Christmas it’s meaning for those who believe.
He’ll do the same for each of us, there isn’t any doubt,
If you allow Him into your heart and do not X Him out.

The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
the third day He rose from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence He shall come again to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
